This documentation through the Salzburg mountains starts from Salzburg's old town to the Osterhorn group.

The Gaisberg - Salzburg's local mountain - borders the wide Salzburg basin in the east. He has a truly turbulent history behind him, which we delve into on the way up to his bald head.

The Gaisberg is the first mountain in the Osterhorn group with alpine pasture-rich limestone foothills and its mountainous region furrowed by small valleys between Salzburg, Fuschlsee, Wolfgangsee and Golling. The summit plateau at almost 1300 meters offers wide views of the Alpine foothills. A serpentine road to the summit for the wealthy festival audience and racing with luxury cars replaced the old cog railway at the end of the 1920s.

The path continues via the Wiestal and the Strubklamm to the Hintersee as a starting point for a special hiking world with narrowly furrowed valleys, up to the extensive alpine pastures with an impressive panorama. Past the Postalm in the deep Salzkammergut, the view finally rests on the round summit of the Osterhorn.
